Job Summary

Perform preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex mechanical production equipment, troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions in pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Replace defective components, operate welding machines and heavy-duty lifts, and complete equipment modifications with direction from a project leader. Log all repair and maintenance details in the designated system while documenting activities and communicating effectively with supervisors and operations teams. Mentor maintenance technician I, providing trade skill development, and collaborate with staff to resolve equipment issues promptly. Requires 10+ years of experience as a journeyman mechanic, proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics, and adherence to strict safety protocols including lock out-tag out. Based in a manufacturing facility with shift schedules, potential overtime, and weekend work.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance
  • 10+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably as a journeyman mechanic
  • Ability to use all common types of hand and power tools
  • Ability to use common fabrication equipment and method such as saws, lathes, mills, and welders
  • Troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery
  • Ability to coordinate resources, contractors, supplies and equipment for project execution
  • Ability to train and mentor others on maintenance skills and equipment
  • Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry)
  • Ability to operate all common types of tools and maintenance equipment such as welding machines, machining equipment, multimeters, and power tools
  • Ability to operate medium to heavy duty equipment, including man and material lifts
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and take corrective actions to restore equipment to proper working condition
  • Replace or repair defective components, parts, or systems as needed
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and production operators to resolve equipment issues promptly
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision, managing time and resources effectively
