Job Summary
Conduct building and grounds maintenance for assigned YMCA locations, performing repairs in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, flooring, painting, and landscaping. Support aquatics projects, camp operations, and volunteer build events while updating facility software work orders and inventory records. Maintain accurate logs and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and YMCA Association protocols. Travel to branches throughout the Richmond footprint using YMCA vehicles, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in building maintenance and repairs
- knowledge of effective maintenance techniques and routine preventive maintenance processes
- ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- ability to perform assigned and approved repairs in accordance with YMCA Association Standards
- knowledge of plumbing
- knowledge of carpentry
- knowledge of electrical
- knowledge of flooring
- knowledge of painting
- knowledge of plaster/sheetrock
- knowledge of landscaping
- knowledge of pool openings/closings
- knowledge of drain/cleans
- knowledge of aquatics area maintenance and repairs
- knowledge of camp openings/closings

- knowledge of equipment transportation
- knowledge of custodial/housekeeping projects
- knowledge of volunteer build events
- ability to consistently update the approved system of records, reports, and inventory
- ability to update, communicate and close out of all work orders and projects in the Facilities Management Software

- knowledge of emergency plans
- knowledge of maintenance management
- knowledge of housekeeping
- ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
