Maintenance Technician I - UniFirst

Job Summary

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices to troubleshoot industrial equipment, systems, and components. Ensure safe operation of machinery, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems by following blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer instructions. Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and utilities, record results in logbooks or computer systems, and make necessary chemical adjustments. Inspect motor, belts, and fluid levels, replace filters, clean shafts, and lubricate equipment parts in accordance with technical manuals. Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System and perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, minimum six months of industrial maintenance experience, and ability to work overtime.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment
  • Minimum of 6 months' work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment
  • Applicable military experience
  • Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment test
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Lockout / Tagout experience
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background
