Job Summary
Perform precision tune-ups and maintenance on HVAC equipment, including heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems. Inspect and diagnose equipment to identify potential problems, prevent breakdowns, and manage parts delivery and removal. Communicate with customers to resolve issues, promote services, and ensure satisfaction while completing all required paperwork and payment collection. Use hand-held devices to record call information and maintain accurate dispatch status reports. Maintain company vehicles and tools, and adhere to safety protocols while working in varied environmental conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 0-2+ years' experience in HVAC
- Technical training certification
- All valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, provincial, or local governmental laws or regulations for the geographical work area
- EPA certification
- Safety certifications
- Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of the operational functionality of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment as well as related accessories
- Proficient mechanical aptitude
- Ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment
- Basic skills in reading wiring diagrams
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with electrical, refrigerant and duct systems on air conditioning equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to stand and walk
- Ability to climb ladders and attic stairs
- Ability to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces
- Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to the following: hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and congested areas
- Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity rated ladders with a 30lb tool belt
- Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds

- Additional training
- Experience performing basic maintenance work on HVAC equipment and related accessories
- Effective communication skills to communicate with customer and resolve customer issues, complaints, or concerns
- Effective and efficient time-management and organizational skills
- Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed
