Job Summary
Maintenance Technician I at Trinity Property Consultants supports property upkeep, completes routine repairs, and builds essential trade skills. Responsibilities include maintaining property grounds and common areas, handling routine service requests and make-ready tasks, performing paint touch-ups and minor repairs, replacing basic hardware/fixtures, supporting inspections and preventative maintenance, assisting with seasonal preparation and storm response, maintaining clean work/storage areas, responding to on-call and emergency requests, and adhering to safety protocols. The role requires beginner-level exposure to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or painting; high school diploma or GED; and 1+ year of maintenance or porter experience (multifamily preferred). Strong tool-handling, chemical safety awareness, basic computer/mobile literacy, and ability to operate standard tools are expected. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required. On-site presence in Newport News, VA; standard daytime hours with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year maintenance or porter experience (multifamily preferred)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or painting
- Ability to operate hand and basic power tools
- Basic computer and mobile literacy and familiarity with work-order systems
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
