Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary
Coordinate work functions with fellow team members and other departments while maintaining boiler and cooling tower systems, including water testing and adjustments. Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment such as centrifuges, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and PLCs, and troubleshoot issues using Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) functions. Operate machinery including telehandlers, skid steers, and forklifts, while executing welding, cutting, fabrication, and concrete work tasks. Use Maximo to order materials and document all maintenance activities, and operate the Distributed Control System (DCS) as needed. This on-site role in Macon, MO, requires 12-hour shifts and call-in availability for continuous plant operation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Documented successful performance as a Maintenance Technician I or equivalent work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with fabrication, welding, cutting
- Repair of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, airlocks, fans/blowers, agitator assemblies, and valves
- Boiler operations and water chemistry
- Material handling systems such as conveyors
- Preventative maintenance practices
- Fabrication and repair of metal/plastic piping systems
- Instrument and electrical work
- Experience with concrete work
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatic and fluid processes
- Ability to read schematic drawings
- Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability of learning new programs
