Job Summary

Conduct routine building inspections, perform quality repairs to electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and execute modifications to doors, walls, and ceilings. Maintain operational knowledge of building and safety systems while operating emergency generators for testing. Document work orders, complete lock repairs and key duplication, and drive to purchase materials as needed. Keep abreast of regulatory codes and organizational programs impacting maintenance schedules. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on facility equipment. Requires one to three years of multi-trade commercial building maintenance experience and valid California driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance
  • Valid California Driver's license
  • TB clearance
  • Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier
  • Must be able to lift and/or move unassisted up to 50 - 75 pounds
  • Hospital maintenance experience
  • General knowledge of basic building and safety codes
  • One (1) - Three (3) years successful experience in Multi-trade building maintenance of commercial buildings
  • Maintenance experience in similar or commercial settings
  • High School Diploma
  • Building Trade technical training through a trade school or college or demonstrable skills in building maintenance
  • Knowledge of regulatory codes and standards
  • Knowledge of regulatory policies and/or codes relating to engineering and environment of care responsibilities
  • Ability to ascertain information from plumbing, mechanical and electrical blueprints
  • Ability to perform and document routine inspections
  • Ability to perform repairs, maintenance, or modifications to floors, doors, walls and ceilings
  • Ability to perform basic repairs, maintenance, or modifications to electrical and lighting systems
  • Ability to perform repairs, maintenance, or modifications to plumbing systems
  • Ability to operate emergency generator testing and documentation
  • Maintains operational knowledge of building and safety and security systems
  • Understand the basic functions of building/maintenance trades
  • Understand the maintenance requirements for facility equipment
  • Understand the basic elements of the AOA Environment of Care and Life Safety Code standards
