Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary
Provide maintenance support to schools within the district by performing basic repairs to facilities and equipment, assisting with upkeep of grounds, and assembling or moving furniture. Operate and care for power equipment and hand tools while executing work orders for plumbing, painting, carpentry, and installing bulletin or dry erase boards. Work overtime when emergencies arise to prevent disruption of schools and perform additional duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. This heavy physical role requires exertion of 100 pounds of force in all weather conditions and under stressful circumstances, reporting to the Supervisor of Maintenance at Lexington City Schools.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Knowledge of general maintenance
- Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks given
- Must be able to perform under stressful conditions
- This work is considered heavy physical work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force
- Employees in this position are required to work in all kinds of weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- General knowledge in basic carpentry, plumbing is preferred
