Job Summary
Maintenance Technician I is responsible for fixing and maintaining mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines at a luxury apartment property. Duties include plumbing, painting, flooring repair, electrical repairs, and heating and air conditioning system maintenance; perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections; diagnose mechanical issues and repair or replace components; clean interior and exterior areas; maintain inventory and coordinate with vendors; respond to emergency maintenance calls; on-site role with rotating on-call and weekend availability. Requires a high school diploma or GED and CPO/HVAC certifications, plus knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems; proficient with hand and power tools; ability to read manuals and blueprints; strong organizational and communication skills; physical ability to perform tasks and potentially work outside regular hours. This is an in-person, on-site position at the property with on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CPO and HVAC certifications are required
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs
- Ability to use common tools (hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches)
- Experience performing routine maintenance
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Professional presentation and attitude
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to work on-call and potentially outside regular hours
