Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary
Perform preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and equipment testing for Distribution Center facilities and material handling gear like forklifts and pallet jacks. Troubleshoot semi-complex problems, respond to service calls, and correct equipment failures while completing work orders in the computerized maintenance management system. Assist with grounds maintenance, heating, cooling, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, and serve as a liaison with outside vendors. Install work areas and furniture, manage trash and recycling removal, and coordinate routine grounds keeping between vendor visits to maintain site safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of facility maintenance experience
- Knowledge of facility industry standards and building codes
- Experience maintaining building control systems, mechanical systems, conveying systems
- Experience with forklifts
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Communication skills
- Mechanical experience with gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word)
