Job Summary

Conduct shift rounds to check systems and equipment, documenting performance and identifying issues. Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as filter changes, condenser cleaning, oil changes, and machinery lubrication. Execute minor repairs including routine cleaning, patching, painting, basic plumbing, and simple electrical work. Abide by all safety guidelines including OSHA regulations and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Communicate work status and expected completion dates to customer staff while managing work requests in the CMMS. Operate hand tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Some experience using hand tools
  • Experience in roles that require physical labor including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry concepts
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or graphic form
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Must be able to send/receive emails
  • Must be able to manage an email box
  • Must be able to operate the work order system
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees
  • Ability to use hand and small power tools
  • Able to disassemble/reassemble basic fixtures and equipment
  • Able to demonstrate basic plumbing and carpentry skills
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical repairs to buildings and equipment
  • Able to competently operate a forklift, scissor lift, and aerial lift
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, cell phone; and/or electronic tablet
  • Ability to function with dynamic priorities, adapting to changing customer expectations and completing work requests efficiently with high quality standards
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
  • Must be able to tolerate adverse rooftop working conditions due to climate
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes
  • May need to support non-customary schedules and weekend work

Desired Qualifications

  • preference given to those with some undergraduate trade or business school training
