Job Summary
Maintenance Technician I responsible for comprehensive maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the agency’s facilities, including aging buildings up to 40,000 square feet with multiple floors and elevators. Performs diagnostics and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems; conducts preventative maintenance; repairs doors, windows, floors, roofs, stairways, and other structural components; executes minor carpentry, masonry, and painting; ensures safety compliance with OSHA, fire codes, and ADA requirements; responds to maintenance service requests; coordinates pest control to mitigate rodent infestations; maintains detailed maintenance logs and tickets, and supports vendor coordination for specialized work. Requires ability to read blueprints/schematics, experience with older infrastructure, and willingness to undergo background checks and livescan. Beneficial experience with pest control coordination, and union-eligible employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC or building repairs)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred but not required
- Background check and livescan
