Job Summary

Maintenance Technician positions at multiple levels performing general and specialized maintenance on rental housing. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, water heaters, painting, carpentry, and other building maintenance tasks; responding to service requests; performing make-ready work for vacated units (including painting, drywall repair, floor work, fixture replacement); preventive maintenance of heating and ventilation systems; operating tools and equipment safely; outdoor work in all weather; PPE compliance; driving company or personal vehicles for site work as needed. Requires trouble-shooting ability across trades, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to safety and quality. Qualifications include HS diploma or GED or equivalent with trades training/experience, 4-6 years (or 5+ years) in residential maintenance, knowledge across HVAC/plumbing/electrical/appliance repair/locksmith, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, EPA certification within 180 days, and valid state DL. Also notes willingness to perform make-ready tasks such as painting, carpentry, flooring, drywall, and other maintenance duties on site and in attics, crawl spaces, and exterior areas. Driving may be required for company or personal vehicle usage in support of duties.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) with advanced training resulting in a certification OR a degree/journeyman license in building maintenance OR one or more skilled trades or related subject OR on-the-job experience in building maintenance or skilled trades
  • 4-6 years or five or more years' experience in residential maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of Building Maintenance with knowledge in one or more trades: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, appliance repair, or locksmith
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and perform physical work; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and above 50 pounds occasionally
  • Team player with attention to detail; ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality
  • DL NUMBER - Driver's License, Valid and in State Required
  • EPA certification within 180 Days Required
