Maintenance Technician - Housing

Job Summary
Receive resident work orders, evaluate needed repairs, and complete assigned tasks within required time frames using the PMWORX program. Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine repair necessity, then diagnose mechanical problems by checking manuals or utilizing third-party vendors. Install, assemble, repair, and maintain electrical, gas, plumbing, and mechanical systems while performing routine preventive maintenance. Coordinate with outside vendors for proposals and paperwork, estimate repair costs, and assist with scheduling unit inspections per HUD/MSHDA policy. Provide grounds keeping services including landscaping and snow removal, move heavy supplies following safety procedures, and ensure Housing Quality Standards are met throughout the property.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- One to two years related experience in maintenance
- Ability to operate a computer and operate maintenance software
- Valid Driver's License
- On-Call phone with requirements to respond
- Ability to Stand
- Ability to Walk
- Ability to Climb
- Ability to Squat/Kneel
- Ability to Bend
- Ability to Handle/Finger
- Lift/Carry 50 lbs. minimum (occasionally)
- Push/Pull 50 lbs. minimum (up to 100 lbs. occasionally)
- Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception)
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC
