Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs semi-routine and general maintenance duties at HABC housing sites, including carpentry, painting, electrical, and plumbing work in response to service requests. Essential tasks include conducting daily building inspections for safety, performing preventive maintenance, completing repairs on various fixtures and appliances, assisting in unit inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and documenting maintenance tasks accurately. A High School Diploma or equivalent and at least three years of relevant experience is required, along with a valid Maryland driver's license. Evening and weekend availability is necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or vocational school equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years of general experience in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repair work
- Valid Maryland driver's license
Additional Requirements
- Possession of a valid Maryland driver's license
- Must be able to be covered under the Authority's fidelity bond
- Must be able to be covered under the Authority's vehicle insurance policy
- Successful completion of a prescreening investigation, including verification of employment history and education credentials
- A 6-month probationary period applies to this full-time permanent position
- Current HABC employees on probation may not apply for other roles until their probationary period is successfully completed
- Individuals under the progressive disciplinary process may not apply for promotions
