Job Summary
Maintain and manage the maintenance department operations for Hotel Saint Louis, ensuring the upkeep and safety of all systems and equipment (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool, kitchen, laundry, life-safety, telecommunications, key control). Responsible for administering maintenance and life-safety programs, purchasing, preventative maintenance, and supervising external contractors. Communicate regularly with the Assistant General Manager and General Manager regarding building condition and operations. Provide warm, knowledgeable guest service and ensure compliance with all relevant policies while upholding a safe, clean environment for guests and associates. Requires collaboration in a team-based setting, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple maintenance tasks in a hospitality environment. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Ability to read and write to facilitate communication
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Team-oriented work environment
- Basic computational ability
- Basic computer skills
- Preferred knowledge of mechanical equipment (chillers, boilers, water softeners, refrigeration)
- Preferred knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
- Familiarity with life safety, safety policies, and compliance (OSHA, FMLA, wage/hour laws)
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
