Job Summary
Maintain and repair fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation. Inspect, diagnose, and perform preventative maintenance on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems; read and interpret technical manuals and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports; prepare maintenance records in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations; conduct emergency service calls; perform welding as needed; operate within a shop environment with a focus on safety and quality. Requires 2+ years of heavy equipment/truck maintenance experience, knowledge of diesel systems, and the ability to work with basic tooling and follow procedures. High school diploma or equivalent; automotive tech training or schooling is preferred; valid driver's license (CDL a plus); ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on heavy equipment and truck maintenance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technician position
- Knowledge of diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair
- Proficiency with welding is a plus
- Must possess own hand tools
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow procedures
- Prolonged standing and walking; ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
