Job Summary
Conduct general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs while performing preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment. Inspect facilities for proper lubrication, monitor water chemical treatment, and adjust customer space temperatures as needed. Troubleshoot building problem areas, install new fixtures, and assist contractors with life safety alarm system testing and shut-downs. Refer complex situations to supervisors and maintain accurate records of all work and testing results. Be available for emergency calls at night, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule, including snow and ice removal duties.
Required Qualifications
- A fundamental knowledge of life safety systems to include fire alarm, sprinkler, fire pumps, and emergency generators
- Be available for emergency calls at night, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule
- Maintain a current North Carolina Driver's License
- At least 2 years of education in at least one of the following: Electrical, Construction, Roofing, Building Life Safety systems, Plumbing, Carpentry, Mechanics
- Or equivalent on-the-job training in one or more of the above consisting of a minimum of 18 consecutive months
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in one of the following: Refrigerant Transition and Recovery
- Maintenance experience in an industrial or commercial environment
