Job Summary
Conduct daily preventive maintenance on machines and facilities, including sewing machines, air compressors, and conveyor systems. Perform machine diagnostics and repair, execute light fixture and pallet rack repairs, and build system infrastructure inspections. Collaborate with other departments to solve facility issues and fabricate small projects to expand capabilities. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical failures while following LOTO and PPE procedures. Maintain a clean work environment and assist with Six Sigma or Lean projects. Work independently with little supervision, attend offsite and onsite training, and remain on an on-call list for the security alarm system. Schedule includes overtime and flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to prioritize and organize with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Desire and willingness to learn complex machinery
- Strong technical problem-solving skills
- PLC diagnostics and repair
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system failures
- Familiarity with CMMS systems
- Ability to work with small parts (sewing machine parts)
- Must be willing and able to be on an 'on call' list for the facility security alarm system
- Must be able to attend both offsite and onsite training
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed including overtime
- Work independently with little supervision
- Assist and participate in Six Sigma, Lean or Continuous Improvement projects
- Follow LOTO and PPE procedures as required
- Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical maintenance
- Mechanical/Electrical experience
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs
- Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions
- Standing for 8 hours a day or longer
- Daily activity includes but not limited to lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting
- Daily operation of hand tools including ratcheting wrenches, sockets, etc
- Reading, communication, math
