Job Summary
Perform various maintenance tasks including floor care, plumbing repairs, and community equipment maintenance. Execute preventative maintenance, operate generators, and provide routine grounds servicing. Possess strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, blueprints, and safety regulations. Must exhibit excellent customer service and communication skills, be self-motivated, and able to adapt in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Comprehensive knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Superior customer service skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with residents based on their cognitive ability
- Self-starter and highly motivated
- High degree of personal accountability and responsibility
- Strong decision-making abilities
- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Applicable trade school education preferred
- Previous experience working in a long-term care or with geriatric population preferred
