Job Summary
Perform irrigation repairs, manage water controllers, and conduct hand watering across greens, tees, and fairways. Execute turf maintenance including mowing, dead tree removal, seeding, aerating, and raking sand traps while applying fertilizers and chemicals. Supervise work crews daily and on weekends, and operate heavy equipment like bobcats, backhoes, and dump trucks for reconstruction and leak repairs. Handle general carpentry and plumbing for clubhouse facilities, perform routine equipment maintenance, and maintain records. Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Obtain a pesticide applicator license within six months.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain pesticide applicator license within 6 months of employment
- Ability to work flexible hours, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to follow instructions and carry out assignments with minimal supervision
- Ability to make decisions in absence of Golf Superintendent
- Ability to maintain records on equipment and troubleshoot minor breakdowns on equipment
- Ability to work with general public and users
- Skills in operating golf course related equipment as well as bobcat, dump truck and backhoe
- Knowledge of basic carpentry/plumbing
- Knowledge of hand tools (manual and electric)
- Knowledge of basic repair to golf course equipment and machinery
- Knowledge of light construction trade
- Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check prior to employment
Desired Qualifications
- One or more years' experience in lawn care maintenance or golf course maintenance
