Job Summary
Receive daily work assignments from the Director of Engineer and prioritize special projects. Organize materials and tools to perform repairs, maintenance, and upkeep in accordance with hotel standards. Complete room preventative maintenance, install and repair vinyl and wallpaper, and strip/refinish guest room furniture. Respond to guest maintenance and service requests while conducting rounds to note touch-up needs or safety concerns. Schedule work in coordination with the Executive Housekeeper and Front Office Manager, ensuring all chemicals are handled per OSHA requirements. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Required certificate from college or technical school in facilities, maintenance or engineering or a combination of experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in maintenance, facilities or engineering
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
- Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision
- Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task efficiently
- Must be able to speak and understand and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Requires effective communication skills
- Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift up to 100 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill painting and engineering tasks
- Safety requirements of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with use of required tools and equipment
- Must be able to lift, pull, grasp, or carry supplies, equipment or tools weighing up to 100 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs
