Job Summary
Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing general building maintenance repairs and unit make-ready duties on vacant units. Essential tasks include addressing work orders and projects involving electrical, plumbing, drywall replacement/repair, painting, lock replacement, tile repairs, blinds/window treatments, HVAC furnace and air conditioning repairs; coordinating preventive maintenance; scheduling vendors; maintaining building inventory; ensuring safety standards; on-call emergency maintenance and grounds upkeep; and assisting with inspections and contractor oversight. Requires ability to work within budget, use hand and maintenance tools, and communicate effectively. At least a high school diploma and 1 year of maintenance experience (HVAC/Electrical/Plumbing/appliance repair) are preferred, with technical training and licenses favored.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of maintenance technician experience including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and appliance repair knowledge
- Experience in an affordable housing environment preferred
- Technical training and license preferred
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Must be able to use hand tools and maintenance equipment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must own and provide necessary tools related to assigned duties
