Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on automated systems including conveyors, sorters, shuttles, and robotics. Diagnose and resolve faults using a structured approach while responding to breakdowns in real time to prioritize issues based on operational impact. Support installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of equipment and controls. Maintain accurate records using CMMS and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards. Collaborate with the wider engineering team to solve problems and share knowledge. This role requires a recognised engineering qualification and experience with automated production systems. Candidates must be able to read electrical drawings, understand control systems like PLCs, and work at pace in a high-volume environment. The position involves a 4 on/4 off rotation including days and nights.
Required Qualifications
- Recognised engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent)
- Experience working with automated or production-based systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Basic understanding of control systems (e.g. PLCs)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work at pace in a high-volume environment
- Taking ownership of problems and following them through to resolution
- Delivering consistent, high-standard work in a time-critical environment
- Making informed decisions quickly to protect system performance and availability
- 4 on / 4 off (days and nights rotation)
