Job Summary
Maintain the hotel facility using consistent preventative maintenance guidelines and ensure all equipment remains in working order. Perform repairs, complete documentation, and assist with houseman duties when assigned. Execute tasks including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing work while adhering to safety standards and reporting hazardous conditions immediately. Maintain a friendly, professional image during long periods of standing, walking, or working outdoors in various temperatures. Work any shift, including nights and weekends, while exercising discretion to protect guest privacy.
Required Qualifications
- Honesty and trustworthiness
- Security clearances
- Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand, lift, bend, learn, read, concentrate, think, and communicate
- Ability to push or pull 100 pounds unassisted
- Ability to lift and/or carry 60 pounds unassisted
- Ability to stand for eight hours
- Ability to bend, stretch, reach, climb ladders, crawl, kneel, and be low to the ground
- Ability to see and hear
- Ability to speak and read English
- Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in a variety of building and mechanical trades
- Knowledge of occupational hazards in the use of power tools and equipment and necessary safety precautions
- Knowledge of repairs and maintenance of furniture and fixtures within the hotel
- Knowledge of safety and security measures
- Knowledge of guidelines for training checklist of areas to be maintained
- Skill in use and care of hand and power tools and equipment appropriate to the area assignment
- Skill in performing preventative maintenance and repairs as well as general maintenance on property grounds
- Skill in assisting with guest issues, being professional, and maintaining a hospitable caring attitude
- Ability to practice Safety Standards at all times
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to comply to all standards
- Ability to remain service centric
- Ability to communicate professionally with guests and co-workers
- Ability to exercise discretion to maintain guest privacy
- Physical presence at the hotel
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time while maintaining a friendly professional image
