Job Summary
Support all maintenance activities including tool maintenance, repairs for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, and urgent production needs. Assist with preventative maintenance on molds and components by disassembling, lubricating, reassembling, and storing tools. Read blueprints, sketches, and manuals to determine assembly requirements, dimensions, tolerances, and setup procedures. Select, align, and secure fixtures and cutting tools on machines, then grind, file, sand, and polish parts for assembly. Install machined replacement parts, test unit functionality, and document all job activities and tooling movements. Maintain utility systems for heat, power, gas, and air; troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems up to 480 volts. Fabricate and modify machines to manufacture new products or improve existing jobs, while cleaning work areas and storing equipment properly.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degrees (A. A.) in related field
- 2 years related experience
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
