Job Summary
Maintenance Technician I at Housing Development Corporation MidAtlantic (HDC) is a part-time role focused on delivering safe, high-quality, welcoming homes across affordable properties. Responsibilities include responding to resident maintenance needs, completing work orders (emergency 24 hours, non-emergency 3 days), performing preventive maintenance, preparing units for occupancy (turnovers within 8 days for full-time tech or 14 days for part-time), and assisting with on-call rotations. The role requires basic plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or electrical knowledge, strong communication and customer-service skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a valid driver’s license. Candidates should be able to work indoors/outdoors, handle physical demands (lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending), and travel within the region as needed. Drug screening and background check are required.
