Job Summary
Assess equipment condition and perform repairs on cooking, packaging, and bagging systems at Burr Ridge and Elmhurst facilities. Execute preventative maintenance to reduce failures, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues, and safely repair high-voltage electrical systems including motor testing and conduit runs. Install and maintain VFFS, coding, and inspection equipment while utilizing a CMMS to document work and applying lean principles to reduce downtime. This second-shift role involves occasional flexibility outside standard hours. Candidates must possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, familiarity with GMPs and food safety guidelines, and at least three years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical machine repair
- Knowledge of GMP's and follow all food safety guidelines
- Ability to understand drawings, equipment manuals
- Ability to use a multimeter
- Basic understanding of electrical components and troubleshooting process
- 3+ years of experience in a maintenance role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in food manufacturing
- Basic computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to tig weld stainless steel and solder copper pipe
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Welding certification
- NFPA 70e certification
- PLC experience (Allen Bradley or equivalent)
- HS Diploma or GED
- Vocational school, trade school, professional degree, Certificate or Apprenticeship in maintenance related field
