Job Summary
Building maintenance technician responsibilities include performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks with daily variability, including landscaping, janitorial duties, plastering, drywall, painting, ordering supplies, inventories, and routine vehicle maintenance. The role covers minor plumbing repairs, carpentry, moving furniture, painting, and basic upkeep of residences, school and office facilities, while ensuring compliance with background checks and safety requirements. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid California driver’s license, and at least one year of institutional maintenance experience, with proficiency across painting, carpentry, plumbing, automotive, welding, and inventory management; familiarity with Microsoft Office; ability to lift 50 lbs; and ability to meet all employment screening requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Valid California driver’s license and car insurance
- Driving record acceptable to the Company’s insurance carrier
- One or more years experience in institutional maintenance
- Working knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, automotive and welding skills
- Proficient in inventory management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional, physical examination, and drug testing
