Job Summary
Maintenance Technician at Preferred Apartment Communities responsible for handling maintenance needs (including work orders, emergency calls, repairs, and preventative upkeep), preparing vacant units to rent-ready condition, maintaining property areas (pools, amenity spaces, grounds, equipment), communicating with residents professionally, organizing and documenting work (logging service requests, tracking contractor performance), and supporting overall operations (budgets and light cleaning as needed). Requires 1–3 years of maintenance experience and refrigeration certification within 90 days, plus a valid driver’s license; physical duties include lifting, climbing ladders, and handling heavy equipment. Offered pay range $23.00-$25.00/hour with benefits and PTO/holidays; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years’ maintenance experience
- refrigeration certification (Type II or Universal) within 90 days
- valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, move 75–300+ lb appliances, climb 40-ft ladders, bend/kneel/extend
- move heavy equipment and appliances across units and stairs
- in-unit upgrade tasks such as installing lighting or ceiling fans
