Maintenance Technician, Controls

Job Summary
Assist in the inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of control system components including transmitters, analyzers, valves, actuators, PLCs, and related instruments. Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities; perform loop checks and functional testing during system commissioning. Respond to equipment issues and maintain accurate records of maintenance work. Follow safety and regulatory requirements. Participate in structured on-the-job training to gain proficiency in LNG process equipment and control systems.
Required Qualifications
- Recent graduate (within 0–2 years) from an accredited program in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical or Electronics Technology, Automation/Control Systems, Mechatronics or related technical field.
- Fundamental understanding of electrical and instrumentation principles.
- Basic skills in reading P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and control system schematics.
- Strong commitment to working safely in an industrial environment.
- Ability to work rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, and on-call assignments if required.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must have a “hands-on” method of working.
- Ability to get Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).
Desired Qualifications
- Internship, co op, or practicum experience in industrial controls, oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, or power generation environments.
- Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Basic understanding of cryogenic or LNG processes.
- Experience with CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo.
