Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Conduct janitorial and maintenance duties to keep agency buildings and equipment safe, sanitized, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. Operate maintenance equipment, report malfunctions immediately, and frequently move heavy items across campus while traversing multiple areas. Implement Compass Connections safety protocols, including emergency evacuations with children and staff, and maintain strict confidentiality regarding child and program operations. Report unsafe conditions, suggest hazard solutions, and meet pre-determined deadlines for program and federal partners. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, demonstrating emotional control and professional composure in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- First aid
- CPR
- Emergency behavior intervention
- Two (2) plus years of experience in janitorial or maintenance
- Knowledge of chemicals and reactions
- Safe and proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment
- Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request
- Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks
- Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals
- Maintain knowledge of new and current equipment used to carry out maintenance duties
- Achieve impeccable standards of cleanliness in work outcomes
- Read, analyze, and interpret policy manuals and documents
- Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times
- Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position
- Organize and plan work
- Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures
