Job Summary
Maintenance Technician role responsible for routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of meat processing equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Duties include reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, welding and fabrication, troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, conducting inspections to prevent failures, maintaining records of maintenance activities and parts, and collaborating with production staff to minimize downtime. Requires safety compliance with OSHA and USDA standards, ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, proficiency with diagnostic tools and hand/power tools, and a high school diploma/GED with relevant technical training; prior meat-processing environment experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance mechanics
- Experience as a maintenance technician in a food manufacturing environment (preferably meat processing)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and hand/power tools
- Understanding of OSHA and USDA safety/regulatory standards
