Job Summary
Check oil, transmission fluid, and other fluid levels; inspect belts, filters, air levels, and gauges. Test systems and components to ensure they are secure and functioning properly, isolating issues that may have caused problems. Drive the vehicle for testing purposes while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles. Repair or replace worn parts before breakdowns occur using power tools, machine tools, and hand tools. Operate electronic diagnostic equipment and work on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced environment. Ford Certification and previous dealership experience are plus factors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills
- Positive, friendly attitude
Desired Qualifications
- Ford Certification is a plus
- Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus
- Ability to identify the problem quickly
- Knowledge of automobiles
- Effective analytical and communication skills
- Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
- Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
- Comfortable operating electronic diagnostic equipment
