Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance, repair, and installation of various equipment within the facility. Key responsibilities include responding to maintenance calls, performing preventive maintenance, inspecting and adjusting equipment, changing consumable items, completing work orders, assisting in installations, and maintaining HVAC and boiler systems. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with two years of related experience or graduation from a trade school. Skills in leadership, organization, problem-solving, and effective communication are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
- Graduate of a trade school or equivalent OR two (2) years’ related work experience.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, and sound judgment.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, A.T.S. door hardware, casework components and various finishes.
- Knowledge in reading construction drawings and performing material take offs.
- Knowledgeable of applicable codes and regulations.
- Journeyman’s certificate preferred.
