Job Summary
Maintenance Technician I responsible for coordinating tasks and supplies to prepare vacant units for re-occupancy, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and assisting with minor and routine maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, painting, and grounds. Duties include preparing units for move-in, performing quality control checks, assisting with trash removal and janitorial tasks, maintaining cleanliness of facilities and grounds, installing or assisting with appliance installations, performing landscape and snow-removal tasks, and supporting resident relations and on-site vendors. Requires reliable transportation, 1+ year maintenance experience, ability to operate power tools, attention to safety and OSHA/PPE guidelines, and a professional appearance. Reports to Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager depending on property size.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year minimum of prior maintenance experience
- Must have reliable transportation as necessary to safely and effectively carry out the responsibilities listed above.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of apartment building maintenance; ability to operate power tools; ability to diagnose and repair routine maintenance issues; ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; ability to follow instructions; ability to maintain professional appearance.
