Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance service requests, engaging in preventive maintenance on community equipment, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the upkeep of community appearance. Prospective candidates should have a minimum of six months of maintenance experience, ideally in the apartment industry, and must possess technical skills relevant to apartment maintenance. This role requires handling repairs in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as involvement in groundskeeping, pool maintenance, and preparing vacant apartments for move-in.
Required Qualifications
- Six months of maintenance experience, preferably in the apartment industry
- Demonstrate knowledge of technical skills as it relates to apartment maintenance
- Handle tile work, carpentry repairs and all facets of the make ready process
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and all other systems at the community
- Dependable transportation to/from work
- Valid driver’s license for communities utilizing Low Speed Vehicles
- Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification
Additional Requirements
- Must have normal range of hearing, vision, color discrimination and depth perception for proper operation of machines and equipment.
- Must be able to complete tasks wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., goggles, masks, gloves, etc.).
- Must be able to read and write in English at intermediate level to read diagrams, meters, instructions, etc.
