Job Summary
Maintenance Technician III at Oakwood Apartments in Plymouth, MN, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties including equipment installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure property and grounds meet company standards. Works with Property Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor to make vacated apartments rent-ready, complete work orders quickly, and perform common repairs (touch-up painting, fixture replacement). Duties include monitoring building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Boilers), unit inspections, site-level preventive maintenance, coordinating with Zone Building Engineer and Vendor teams, maintaining tools and supplies, alerting management to high-priority issues, performing groundskeeping and snow removal, maintaining professionalism with residents and vendors, attending required trainings, complying with safety programs, and responding to emergency calls. Required to rotate standby for emergencies. Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or GED, an AA degree or certification in mechanical, HVAC, electrical, or industrial maintenance (preferred), 1+ years’ relevant experience, and specific licenses (Certified Pool Operators, Special Boiler’s License, Type II Refrigerant Certification within 6 months). Strong communication, teamwork, time management, and safety mindset are essential, along with physical ability to perform demanding tasks indoors and outdoors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- AA degree or certification in mechanical, HVAC, electrical or industrial maintenance (preferred)
- 1+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician in a residential apartment setting or equivalent experience
- Knowledge in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, appliance repair, building key systems, lawn irrigation systems, and pool and sauna operations
- Certified Pool Operators License, Special Boiler’s License, Type II Refrigerant Certification (within 6 months of hire)
- Valid state driver’s license and ability to travel between sites
