Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and boilers. Inspect systems for proper operation, safety, and efficiency, then clean, lubricate, and adjust components as required. Replace filters, belts, contactors, capacitors, and other common wear items while identifying potential failures to recommend repairs or upgrades. Accurately document findings and communicate clearly with customers regarding system condition. Follow OSHA guidelines and manufacturer specifications, maintaining company vehicles and tools in safe condition. Participate in on-call rotation as assigned, with local travel within the service area. Monday through Friday schedule with overtime possible during peak seasons.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- EPA Section 608 Certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders regularly
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and components
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, manuals, and service documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Customer service–oriented with strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in using service software or mobile devices for documentation
- Local travel within the assigned service area
- Overtime and on-call work may be required during peak seasons
Desired Qualifications
- 1–3 years of HVAC maintenance or service experience
- Trade school or technical training in HVAC
- Additional HVAC certifications (NATE, manufacturer training, etc.)
