Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Respond to all repair requests and maintenance concerns from residents and staff, performing routine interior and exterior community maintenance as scheduled. Conduct equipment maintenance, including painting, snow/ice removal, gutter cleaning, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs, while reporting malfunctions and hazardous conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor. Always show respect for residents and community staff, ensuring resident privacy before entering apartments and maintaining a safe work environment. Attend assigned training sessions and work with vendors for landscaping and painting projects.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- High School degree or equivalent
- Understanding of and alignment with Bell Core Values
- 1-3 years of previous maintenance experience in a similar facility preferred
- Basic understanding and ability to repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, and mechanical systems
- HVAC, EPA, and/or CPO certifications may be required in many communities, based on staffing levels
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Availability to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends
- Physical requirements of the job: Walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting to 80 lbs
- Ability to work with mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as hazardous materials
- Must be comfortable with heights and moving heavy objects
