Job Summary
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems using general shop equipment like lathes, mills, and welding tools. Convert standard inch units to metric, read mechanical and hydraulic blueprints, and perform various welding techniques. Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on plant instrumentation and lighting systems while ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations. Assist in training and orientation of co-workers. This multi-craft position at our Norton, VA plant requires a strong mechanical background and troubleshooting skills. Shifts include 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., rotating Sunday through Wednesday and Wednesday through Saturday, with overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed. Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent
- Must be able to convert standard inch units to metric
- Must be able to use general shop equipment (lathes, mills, welding equipment)
- Must be able to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic blueprints
- Must be able to perform various welding techniques
- Must be able to repair and maintain plant instrumentation and lighting systems
- Must be able to conduct preventive and predictive maintenance
- Must be able to ensure safety and compliance with all regulations
- Must be able to assist in training and orientation of co-workers
- Must be able to work shifts: 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts: Sunday - Wednesday and Wednesday - Saturday
