Job Summary
Inspect and listen to machinery to identify malfunctions, then test operations to verify proper functioning and reliability. Operate with little to no daily supervision, taking full responsibility for maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and rebuilds on a specific group of equipment. Assist in identifying spare parts required for repairs and complete requisitions accurately. Requires extensive experience in machine repair and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including installing and programming AC variable frequency drives. Candidates must possess basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills prior to hiring. Ability to work in an environment that is extremely hot and humid in summer months.
Required Qualifications
- previous manufacturing maintenance experience
- minor electrical experience
- extensive experience in machine repair
- thorough knowledge of and troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems throughout the facility
- experience installing and programming AC variable frequency drives
- experience with industrial electrical
- strong mechanical skills
- strong communications skills
- strong general knowledge of plant maintenance
- basic working knowledge of power hand tools such as drills, saws, and cutting tools
- basic plumbing skills
- basic electrical skills
- basic mechanical skills
- basic hydraulic skills
- basic pneumatic skills
- ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs
- ability to stand and change positions frequently over an eight-hour period
- ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and or legs
- ability to see (in low light)
- ability to hear spoken words
- ability to verbally communicate
- willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours
Desired Qualifications
- Three years or more related experience in a manufacturing facility
- High School Graduate
- General Education Degree (GED)
