Job Summary
Maintenance Technician at Atlas Tube (Zekelman Industries) in Kansas City, MO, responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance on tube mill production equipment. Focuses on maximizing equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield; diagnoses and repairs electrical and mechanical issues; follows safety procedures including lockout/tagout; reads blueprints and schematics; uses MMIS systems to track status; performs preventive maintenance and changeovers; fabricates repair parts as needed; maintains a clean, safe work environment; operates cranes and powered industrial trucks as required; supports continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in a maintenance role
- High school diploma or equivalent (apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical or electrical training preferred)
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and interpretation of technical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity in electrical systems and PLCs
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math calculations
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment
- Ability to pass job-related testing, an employment physical, and a post-offer drug screen
- Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative and results-oriented mindset
