Job Summary

Respond promptly to maintenance requests in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces while performing general repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and furniture restoration. Complete preventative maintenance assignments to ensure facilities operate safely and efficiently, prioritizing work orders based on guest impact and emergency situations. Inspect equipment and mechanical systems to identify needs before they become guest concerns, maintaining organized inventories of tools and supplies. Handle chemicals and materials safely while reporting hazards to Engineering leadership and partnering with Housekeeping and Front Office to keep the hotel guest-ready. Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and emergency calls.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move throughout the hotel during the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 pounds, including equipment, tools, furniture, and maintenance materials.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, snow removal equipment, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to work safely around mechanical equipment, electrical systems, chemicals, elevated work areas, and other maintenance-related hazards.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while responding to guest requests and completing work in occupied guest areas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call situations based on business needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required licenses, certifications, or permits applicable to the position.

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous hotel, commercial building, facilities, or general maintenance experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Ability to read blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical instructions preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and proper chemical handling procedures preferred.
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative Engineering team.
