Job Summary

Inspect all buildings and facilities, identify deficiencies, and initiate repairs for minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, finishes, and masonry. Complete assigned work orders independently while overseeing contractors and maintaining mechanical equipment per manufacturer and industry standards. Perform landscape alterations including mowing, weeding, and trash pickup, and setup equipment in conference rooms. Respond to after-hours emergencies and maintain campus security by checking doors, windows, and alarm systems. Transport items offsite and travel 40% within the Archdiocese of San Antonio zone. Maintain inventory, protect confidential donor and financial information, and adhere to safety protocols and the Code of Conduct.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in building maintenance or construction related work
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver license
  • Valid Vehicle Insurance
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, HVAC, masonry, painting, and electrical work
  • Working knowledge of general maintenance tools
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures and techniques (i.e. OSHA standards)
  • Knowledge of basic electrical wiring and repairs (i.e. light switches, bulbs, and ballasts)
  • Knowledge of proper paint and varnish application techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge of mechanical preventive maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic carpet, tile and drywall installation and repair
  • Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good time-management skills, the ability to prioritize effectively, and to multitask
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
  • Good written and verbal skills
  • Good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Must be available for after hours, weekends and evenings as needed
  • Must be able to lift and climb
  • Must be able to travel 40% within Archdiocese of San Antonio geographical zone
  • Must adhere to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy
  • Must take a solution-oriented approach
  • Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies
  • Must be able to maintain security of the campus buildings
  • Must be able to protect the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization

Desired Qualifications

  • May require OSHA and/or First Aid certification within one year
