Job Summary
Repair all material handling equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatics, and electronic systems across the Melrose Park Complex facilities. Perform maintenance and repair functions on automated and mechanized equipment such as conveyors, cranes, and balers, alongside general building repairs, grounds upkeep, and snow plow operations. Identify and separate recyclable items including scrap metal and batteries. Operate hand and power tools, forklifts, man-lifts, and pallet jacks while maintaining basic computer skills and reading hazardous material labels. Follow company policies for work orders and inventories. This role supports a company that values innovation and customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to operate work related equipment and tools (hand and power) to include powered equipment, forklifts, man-lifts, pallet jacks, and all types of testing equipment
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must be able to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance, repair and service procedures
- Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work at both ground level and in high places to perform job tasks and duties
- Mental alertness is necessary to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities and tasks
- Must have the ability to learn and follow Company and Distribution Center policies and procedures encompassing work orders, purchase requisitions/orders, spare parts and supplies inventories
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend all labeling on hazardous materials and equipment in the facility(s)
- Must have the ability to operate work related equipment and tools (hand and power) to include powered equipment, forklifts, man-lifts, pallet jacks and all types of diagnostic equipment
- Possess the ability to identify recyclable items and separate them as necessary (scrap metal/iron, all types of batteries, etc.)
- Have basic knowledge of the Fire Protection/Suppression systems operations in all Complex facilities
- The position will be based in Melrose Park, IL
