Job Summary
Maintenance Technician position responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment. Responsibilities include disassembling/reassembling equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, and valves; repairing or replacing worn parts; basic welding; inspecting hydraulic and pneumatic systems for leaks and correct pressure; performing preventive maintenance; reading blueprints; coordinating with contractors or vendors; operating a forklift or scissor lift; and communicating effectively with teammates. Requires ability to read safety and maintenance documents, use basic computer tools, perform routine calculations, and lift up to 25 pounds. Located with Dauch Corporation in Columbus, IN; on-site role with emphasis on teamwork and adherence to safety and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Strong electrical skills
- Hydraulic systems troubleshooting
- Pneumatic systems troubleshooting
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, quality documents, and set-up instructions
- Ability to fill out charts and other simple documents and communicate with team via email
- Experience operating forklift and scissor lift
- Ability to work with contractors or vendors
- Ability to communicate with team members in a meaningful and respectful manner
- Ability to perform basic welding
- Proficiency with basic computer tools
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds
- Detail-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision
- Team player
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Reading/writing documentation in English
- Mathematical aptitude (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to follow written or diagram form instructions
