Job Summary
Maintain the facility grounds and buildings in safe, efficient condition; manage supplies, donated items, and a tool-control system; supervise clients assigned to maintenance duties; respond to maintenance emergencies and perform routine repairs; diagnose problems and assess needs for repair or replacement; track work orders and coordinate transport of clients as required; ensure compliance with WestCare Foundation mission and policies; perform additional duties as assigned; require strong knowledge of maintenance practices, HVAC/electrical systems, safety standards, and the ability to work in a team-oriented, confidential setting; must obtain CDCR clearance and maintain valid driver’s license with vehicle insurance and related certifications (CPR, First Aid, TB test).
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years experiences in general semi-skilled maintenance and repair work, or as a building maintenance or construction trades worker
- Must possess knowledge of common methods, practices and materials used in maintenance and repair work of buildings and building facilities
- Must be familiar with the various tools used in building maintenance and repair work and their proper employment and care
- Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC systems, electrical circuits, controls, and safety standards
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be sensitive to populations served
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain clearance from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)
- Valid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test
- During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including vaccinations that may be issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with
- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent

- WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is primarily performed in a residential treatment facility
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional lifting of more than 25 pounds
- Occasional risk of intensive physical activity with clients
- Sitting, standing, walking, reaching are performed in the normal course of the position
