Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician 4 will install, maintain, and repair machinery, electrical systems, and HVAC within the facility; fabricate replacement parts as needed; lubricate machinery and perform other routine maintenance. Advanced welding (MIG, Stick, TIG) and millwright (pipe-fitting) work, fabrication of guards/mounts/tooling, and mechanical diagnostics (pumps, compressors) are required. Responsibilities include rebuilding components and gear reducers, troubleshooting PLCs and relays, replacing roof/window glass, calibrating Ishida scales, wiring in existing runs, and utilizing electrical meters. Adherence to safe work practices per GMP/HACCP, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring product quality, and reporting any conditions affecting safety or quality are essential. May assume shift-lead duties in the absence of management. Strong independent and collaborative work skills are needed, along with proficiency with hand and power tools and a thorough understanding of OSHA regulations and related company policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Preferred Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Electrical or Mechanical field (preferred)
- Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls (preferred)
- Experience with robotic operation/maintenance (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical and general construction/carpentry (preferred)
- Basic understanding of 3-phase electricity (preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot basic I/O functions (preferred)
- Working knowledge of motor controllers, low voltage electrical systems, proximity switches, photo-eyes, and variable frequency drives (preferred)
- Understanding of schematics/blueprints (preferred)
- OSHA and Company regulations familiarity (required)
- Ability to work independently or in teams (required)
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and fabrication skills (required)
- MIG/STICK/TIG welding skills (required)
- Millwright skills (required)
- Ability to calibrate scales (Ishida) and diagnose equipment settings (required)
- Compliance with GMP/HACCP and food-safety practices (required)
- Ability to maintain sanitary conditions and product quality (required)
- Shift lead responsibilities in absence (optional)
