Job Summary
Maintenance Technician for 3rd shift, outdoor role responsible for maintaining and repairing cables that provide Spectrum Internet services from hub sites to points outside customers’ homes. You will monitor and report signal leakages and repairs to ensure 24/7 network coverage. Independent work in all weather, with on-call hours; requires English communication skills, basic electronics and mathematics knowledge, and the ability to operate testing equipment. Preferred familiarity with Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) networks, RF, AC/DC, and customer premises networks; experience in telecommunications installation/service; coax and/or fiber installation/maintenance. The position emphasizes independent work, outside duties, and collaboration with peer organizations to keep the network functioning across service areas.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Experience: Cable experience of at least 1 year
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate appropriate computer or test equipment, knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics
- Abilities: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward and professional manner; Ability to work independently; Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics; Ability to operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with position
- Skills: Well-organized, independent, prioritization skills
- Schedule: On call in all weather conditions, hours will be dictated by business needs
